DOG IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Toro is one of the most amazing American Bulldogs in the history of the breed.  He combines near-perfect conformation and certified hips with awesome versatility as a working dog.  He is the epitome of what an American Bulldog should be, in fact, in some circles he is known as the American Bulldog of the Millenium!
Toro was born on November 23, 1996.  Bred by Alan Sloan, Toro is an excellent representation of the hybrid American Bulldog demonstrating a perfect blend of Scott and Johnson lines.  He comes down from hip-certified, Schutzhund bloodlines and his sire, Gr. Ch. Sloan’s Turbo, was the first ABA conformation champion.
He earned his ABA Championship (becoming the sixth ABA Champion) when he won the ABA Nationals on January 17, 1998 at the tender age of 13 months!  Just this year he became the 2000 NKC National Champion making him the only American Bulldog that has won the National Championship of two different registries (not to mention that he is the only Grand Champion in two different registries!).  Known for his effortless movement, 105 lb Toro is held as a standard of excellence by respected ABA and NKC Judge Lem Miller who said, “If you want to see fluid movement, watch this dog.”  Known as the Arnold Schwarzenagger of Bulldogs, Toro is incredibly muscled and strong of structure --- this Grand Champion could NEVER be mistaken for a bitch!
Conformation is only part of what makes Toro so special.  He is a working dog through and through.  By 16 months of age, Toro had earned his Schutzhund BH degree under DVG Judge Sandi Purdy.  Since then, Toro has earned titles and degrees in obedience, weight pulling and endurance in addition to passing his WABA Breed Suitability Test with very high ratings and going High in Trial for his BST II.  Judge, Mike Stone rated Toro Pronounced in Courage, Hardness and Fighting drive!  Toro is currently the most titled Champion American Bulldog in history.  Toro has won every protection tournament he has been entered in and always radiates confidence and self-assuredness in his work.  Toro is known for his spirit and joyful presence in both the show ring and the working ring and is a favorite of conformation judges and bite helpers around the nation.  He is a bulldog that is high in drive with the stability of temperament and strong genetic foundation that allows him to be an excellent family member.  Toro has demonstrated on more than one occasion his willingness to protect his family “for real” and the intelligence to trust his family’s guidance if this protection is not needed.
As a proven producer of thick-boned, high-drive, stable and conformationally exceptional Champion offspring, Toro has never disappointed us in any way.  We are preparing Toro to trial for both his Schutzhund I and UCDX titles later this year.
Recently Toro finished his ABA Grand Championship making us the proudest American Bulldoggers in the universe.  With Toro on top of his game, this is the perfect time for him to be an ABR “Dog in the Spotlight”!
